End in Sight...good bye 2008!

WOW...another year gone! I look back on 2008 and wonder where the time has gone.

Accomplishments:
  1. 1. I have become a better seamstress (now don't get me wrong I have a long ways to go)!
  2. 2. My little girl turned one and is quickly approaching 2. I'm not sure I'm ready for this (is any mother ready for her little ones to get older?).
  3. 3. Started my home-based business!
  4. 4. Done a better job at keeping my house clean.

Looking forward to:

  1. 1. The birth of our second baby in June!
  2. 2. Possible job changes for the husband
  3. 3. The year of potty learning (I'm hoping to get little Miss A potty trained by June, not looking promising if today was any indication)!

That's all I can think of for now...I also want to wish you all a healthy and happy 2009!

Christmas Time = Baking; Baking = COOKIES!!!!

I love Christmas time, it's one of my favorite holidays for many reasons the main reasons is because it is the day we celebrate as the birth of God's Son, Jesus. Who came to this earth to save me from my sins!

Secondly, another reason I love Christmas time is because I LOVE to bake!!! I haven't baked as much this year as we have done in previous years (mainly b/c I'm watching my weight gain with this pregnancy more with this one than with Annika). :o)

But tonight we didn't have church due to weather (we are in the middle of nowhere and besides the handful of people that live nearby most people travel from further away). So tonight I cleaned the kitchen completely than Annika and I made cookies.

I wanted to share the recipe with you! These are the greatest cookies to make they are simple and taste GREAT!!

They are called Cake Mix Cookies!

This recipe is for chocolate chocolate chip cookies!

Ingredients:
Cake Mix (Betty Crocker Super Moist Butter Recipe Chocolate)
1 egg
1/2 cup Margin (one stick)
2 tbsp water
1 cup water
1 cup of chocolate chips (I add a few more)....I forgot to write this in! :)

Directions:
Mix everything together, bake at 350 for 9-12 minutes

**note: I buy my cake mixes when they are on sale for about 99 cents and stock up so I have them for future when I am in need of making a quick batch.**

One Reason for my bad blogging (and the biggest)

We're Expecting our Second baby at the end of June!!

Well, we have decided to share with family and friends. Which is one reason I have been such a bad blogger lately. I haven't felt all that great and by the time I'm done chasing after my 21 month old all day, I don't feel like doing much for sewing or crafting, I just feel like sleeping!

Christmas Tea

I know I've been a bad blogger lately, but life is really busy this time of season as I'm sure it is for you also.

Our church just had it's 7th Annual Ladies Christmas Tea today in which I was responsible for a few things. So finally after, 8 sets of plates, cups, silverware, a center piece, and favors which included 3 ink cartridges and over 2000 index cards (Christmas Recipe Cards) I was able to finish everything the day before. :)

The way this works is that there are 22 tables and 22 ladies are asked to decorate a table with their own dishes...to say this was beautiful is a gross understatement!! There is also a group of ladies in charge of decorating the church for Christmas time (in which I also helped)...while it was a lot of work it sure paid off in the end!!

I was asked to decorate a table which has excited me for quite some time. However, I didn't have any fancy dishes so this year for my birthday (which was in Nov) and last years Valentines gift my wonderful husband bought me the most beautiful set of dishes from Target!! So I was able to use these for my table. I love the way my table turned out. I was a little nervous on how it would turn out because my table was right in front and the speakers table. But it turned out great (at least I think so) elegant without being overly fancy (I'm a simple kind of gal). :)

The attendance was great this year we had over 180 ladies in attendance (the largest attendance yet). The speaker was great (a pastor's wife from North Dakota)!!! What a blessing it was to fellowship with all of those ladies! Annika was able to attend with me again this year and it is such fun to have a little girl to share this with (and to think she was suppose to be a boy)! :)

I leave with a picture of the table that I decorated. If you would like to see pictures of other tables you may head over to my Family Blog and check out the slide show of all the tables that were decorated!
