Did you know that today (May 15th) is National Chocolate Chip Cookie day?! What better day then today to make chocolate chip cookies.
I'm going to share one of our favorite SUPER easy chocolate chip cookie recipes!
I have 4 little helpers with me today.
Warning: My photos aren't the greatest as I was taking them while also trying to make sure everything was done correctly! And of course it's almost impossible to get a photo of all 4 looking at the camera. ;)

What you need:
Chocolate Cake mix (any kind...we like a fudge or dark chocolate)
1 stick of butter or margarine (softened)
1 Tablespoon of water
1 cup of chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
1 stick of butter or margarine (softened)
1 Tablespoon of water
1 cup of chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Donovan is cutting up our margarine (or butter) so that we can soften it in the microwave a bit.
Annika is cracking the one lonely egg into a bowl so that we can check for shells. She's very good at this and rarely gets shells in the bowl. :)
Mom (that's me) gets to add the 1 table spoon of water into the cake mix
Super Donovan (with his cape as an apron) is going to dump the hole stick of softened margerine into the bowl with the cake mix.
Mix these ingredients all together using your mixer.
Now the {BEST} part:
Spitfire (aka Kendra) is going to dump the cup of chocolate chips into the bowl. When finished, mix that all together. And share a few chocolate chips with each of the kids. :)
Just in case you were wondering about my 4th helper....he was holding onto the cake mix box for us. :) (picture courtesy of Annika)
Scoop the cookies onto a baking sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes.
These cookies don't flatten out so you'll have to test to see if their done by touch. But if they are gooey....that's okay! They taste good that way also! ;)
