BIb-O-Rama

I decided it was time to do something with all of my leftover flannel from diapers (that wasn't big enough to make into diapers). If this next baby spits up even a fraction of what Annika did then these bibs will be well used!

The striped ones are two layers of flannel (front and back) w/ a layer of fleece in the middle. The other two (sheep & yellow) is a layer of flannel w/ a layer of just a bathroom towel I had left over from a sheep costume I made for our church Christmas Program.

Oh and as an after thought...check out the sandals I got from a thrift store for $2 I don't think they have ever been worn!!!

New Summer Skirts

I've been in a sewing mood lately! I was able to buy a whole bunch of fabric from Joanns and start on making Annika some summer skirts! I have a whole lot more fabric too! I've been using a lot in my fabric stash also. These go together so easily and they look great on her!

I plan on making a top to go w/ this one, I just haven't got around to it (maybe a hat also). :)

I love the fabric on this one!! (I'm hoping to make a hat w/ this one as well)

Last but not least: I also got a good deal on this fabric (1.99/yrd) hoping to make a matching hat. :)

Patch Work Skirt & Pillowcase Dress

I've been pretty good on keeping up with my daily house chores...something I've not been all that great at. But I found making lists help TONS for me!! So yesterday I got my whole list done (almost except my laundry, which I decided to put off until today and am in the process of doing right now). Anyways, I got my whole list done that I was able to sew some while A was sleeping!! I finished one project and used up some scrap fabric to sew another.

First up A's new pillowcase dress:
I got the pillowcase for 10 cents from a garage sale and fell in love with it. I've had it since last summer and finally decided to turn it into something! :) I think it turned out really good. I'm not a huge fan of the huge ribbons on the shoulders (I would use a thinner ribbon next time).

Pardon the little model she wasn't real happy about modeling!

The next up is the patch work skirt:
I {heart} THIS!!!! I will definitely make another one! I tried one before but I couldn't get it to work, I was having problems with gathering (my sewing machine is pretty basic and I didn't have a stitch that worked all that well for gathering so my only other option was by hand (yuck)...until...I found the secret of gathering with elastic!

If you are interested in making one like this you can just head on over to Just Tutes where I got the tutorial you can find the tutorial here. If you love to sew this is a great place to get some easy tutorials (and they are all VERY cute).

We've been busy...

Celebrating Annika's 2nd Birthday! I can't believe my baby is 2!

Poor girl wasn't feeling all that well, but had a fun time at her party!

I am almost finished with her room, just need to hang some stuff on the walls. I'll post pictures when I get it all done!
