For Carrie

This is for a friend of mine whom I don't know in person, but have met online. She is a very sweet woman! I don't know that she even knows who I am but I love to read her posts.

She went in yesterday to give birth to her 9th child. Sadly she lost that baby. She is very sick (she suffered an amniotic fluid embolism) and they are not sure if she will make it or not. Please if you have a second pray for her and her husband and children! Carrie herself is a christian and if she departs from this Earth many here would be sadden by it, but think of the joy Carrie will have to be in the presence of the wonderful Lord who loved and saved her!

Soft Shoes

I had a somewhat uneventful morning my "to do" list is still undone and it's already 11:15 a.m. I did however get some sewing done. I thought why not make a cute pair of baby shoes for my little guy for church. I had an old brown corduroy skirt that I got at a thrift store and it ended up having these weird lines on it. But I thought if I made something small enough it wouldn't show as much so I did.

The tutorial I used is from here:

For my first pair they turned out pretty good.

Thanks for looking!

My New Diaper Bag...

Very soon I will need a new (larger) diaper bag. I found this tutorial online and thought I'd try it out.
http://amingledyarn.wordpress.com/gallery/tutorial-hip-mama-diaper-bag/

I LOVE the way it turned out!! It was pretty easy to make also! The only thing I had trouble with was putting the flap on the bag (the only part I couldn't find pictures too). :) I need pictures!!

One thing I'd do differently. I wasn't going to use an interfacing (to make it thicker) so I didn't add any. I figured since I used two home decor fabrics (thicker) that it'd be alright. Well after sewing part of it together I decided that it wasn't that thick after all so I added it in at the last step (just using a bottom weight fabric). I think next time I will definitely use the iron on stuff as this was pretty hard to sew threw when I got to the seams.

But like I said over all I'm VERY happy with the way it turned out (not perfect but will work perfectly for me).

Here's a few shots...

The inside (notice I have the flap covering the part of the bag that didn't turn out that great)...shhh! :)

My favorite part of the bag...the zippered pocket that turned out really well!!! :)
